It was about all we could do to restrain ourselves until we got to her car, and there we kissed passionately. "Man!" she said when we came up for air, "I missed you so much!" "That might be changing," I said with a grin, "I have some big news for you." "Yeah? Like what?" "Nope, not gonna tell you unless you give me a blow job." "Not a problem," she laughed, "I kinda had one of them in mind anyway. So what's your news?" "No you don't," I teased, "Not till AFTER the blow job." "Wassamatta, don't trust me?" "Just taking a little insurance," I grinned. I didn't get my blow job before I told her my news. I just couldn't wait until we drove to her house, got through supper, then went to bed. Kelly had put on a roast and all the trimmings before she left for the airport, and we were in process of setting everything on the table when she said "You really are gonna make me wait, aren't you?" "Nope, I can't." I answered, "Kelly, my beautiful Kelly, it's over! All our waiting, our commuting, arranging trips, it's all over!" "You're moving back to Toronto?" she said hopefully. "Better! I'm moving to Raleigh. I'm retiring, Kelly! I just got an early retirement package!" At this point there are a few things I need to explain. I had been sent to Raleigh on a two year foreign assignment in 1981. We had all thoroughly enjoyed the Raleigh area, had fallen absolutely in love with the place! Kelly got down from Toronto quite often, because at that time Raleigh was IBM's telecommunications capital of the world, and there were always seminars, classes, meetings that she could justify attending. We had formulated a plan at that time that one day we would retire there and be together again.
