Mature woman " "Amy?" I echoed, "Your sister?" "No," she answered, "My girlfriend." "But I thought..." I protested, "I thought you'd figured out that you liked guys." I should not have uttered that comment, and the look I got said as much. That look also told me that she was still very uncomfortable with herself, for whatever reason. But she gave me no clue as she led me into the living room and introduced me to a very pretty girl about her own age. We exchanged pleasantries, I tried once more to entice her back to the youth choir, and tried to maneuver her into a private conversation, but she was having none of mature woman. Finally I gave up and left. To this day I don't know what happened to Conrad. The next time I was in town she had moved, and I lost track of her. "I saw Conrad today," I told Kelly as we had our quiet time. "Yeah?" she said with interest, "How's she doing? I already know she is one great lookin' dude!" "Yeah, she is. But as to how he's doing, I really don't know. But how did you know he's so great looking?" "I saw her at school a couple times. He's grown so much I can't believemature woman .Where did you see her?" I explained that I'd gone to her home, hoping... well I guess I had to admit I didn't know what I was hoping, only that I was concerned about her. I told Kelly what had happened, about the girl he'd had in the house... everything! "So what do you think?" she asked, "Is that the end of that? Was her crush on you just a passing fancy?" "I don't think so," I answered, "He gave me a look that said nothing's really changed at all. I really wonder about her having a girl friend. It just seems so... so strange." "What if it's just a front?" Kelly reflected, "What if she calls tomorrow and says she is ready for... well, you know... |
